The Parish Church of St. Peter and St. Paul

The structural state of the old parish church made a new building necessary. Architect Arthur Blomfield had proposed replacing the old parish church, while retaining the tower(now the heritage centre), but it was decided to use a site on Old Street, which he said was good enough for “a perfectly convenient and effective church” and is the building which now stands. It was consecrated on September 3rd 1879.
